VOTE ON THE RONALDO MOMENT
The Ronaldo Master Challenge Fan Vote gives you the choice to pick from four unforgettable goals, with the highlight receiving the most votes being minted as the Rare reward.
Cristiano Ronaldo goal vs. Atlético Madrid
One of Cristiano Ronaldo's greatest displays in the history of LaLiga. A hattrick at the Vicente Calderón in the Madrid Derby, including an incredible strike from the edge of the box, that Courtois could do nothing about. A trademark thunderstrike from CR7 in what was arguably his best LaLiga season, scoring a total of 46 goals in 38 games and leading Real Madrid to the record-breaking 100 points, overcoming Guardiola and Leo Messi's FC Barcelona for the league title - a first LaLiga title for the Real Madrid superstar.
Cristiano Ronaldo goal vs. Rayo Vallecano
One of Cristiano Ronaldo's most spectacular and memorable goals from his time in LaLiga. In a victory at Vallecas against Rayo Vallecano, the Portuguese superstar pulled a gigantic rabbit out of his hat to score a backheel worthy of a horse kick, surprising opponents, teammates, and everyone around the world to score a beautifully crafted goal. The goal is from his 2011/2012 season, Cristiano's best season in terms of goals for Real Madrid (46 goals in 38 games) and the one that allowed Los Blancos to regain the LaLiga crown ahead of Guardiola's FC Barcelona with a record number of 100 points. And what can we say about that red shirt, right? It sure caused a furore in the Spanish capital!
Cristiano Ronaldo goal vs. Osasuna
Cristiano Ronaldo's trademark goal at the always complicated El Sadar stadium. Amid a tight fight for LaLiga, Los Blancos won 5-1 in Pamplona thanks, in part, to this Cristiano Ronaldo shot from 40 meters out that the goalkeeper from Navarre was helpless to stop. A goal and a victory that allowed Real Madrid to continue with a firm step in the fight for what would be Cristiano Ronaldo's first League title in Spain (2011/2012 season) and in which the Portuguese star amassed some truly ridiculous numbers, scoring a total of 46 goals in 38 matches, proclaiming himself Pichichi and European Golden Boot.
Cristiano Ronaldo goal vs. RCD Espanyol
The only one of the four options that is from a different season to 2011/2012. But a season in which Cristiano Ronaldo won the first of three consecutive Champions Leagues with Los Blancos, in addition to scoring 35 goals in LaLiga. A great goal against RCD Espanyol after leaving two defenders in the dust after a signature Ronaldo chop and just smashing the ball in the net with his supposedly weaker foot, in a match in which Real Madrid defeated the Catalan rivals by six goals to nil, with a hattrick by (who else?) the Madeira-born beast. To cap it off, Ronaldo then runs off to the corner while the crowd holds their breath for the inevitable SIIIIUUU!
VOTE ON THE MESSI MOMENT
The Messi Master Challenge Fan Vote gives you the choice to pick from four unforgettable goals, with the highlight receiving the most votes being minted for the Rare reward.
Leo Messi goal vs. Zaragoza
Oldie, but my word is this a goldie. A spectacular solo goal from a younger Leo Messi, in only his second season wearing the legendary number 10. There was just no stopping Messi in this goal where he simply left every single opponent that came at him eating his dust. The goal, against Zaragoza at the Romareda in the 2009/2010 season is one of his most memorable goals in LaLiga, with his own teammates and rivals in sheer awe, throwing their hands to their heads. Inevitably, Leo Messi scored a hattrick in that match that ended in a 2-4 victory for Barcelona, in which he allowed himself the luxury of giving away a penalty to Ibrahimovic, after he had already bagged his three goals. Messi finished that LaLiga with 34 goals and Guardiola's FC Barcelona won their second consecutive league title.
Leo Messi goal vs. Athletic Club
Incredible slalom by Messi in one of the most mythical and famous venues of Spanish football, La Catedral. What can we say, other than there was no better place for D10S to take over at the Cathedral. A match that ended 2-2 but that did not deprive FC Barcelona of winning LaLiga in that 2012/2013 season in which the team achieved their record number of points: 100. Messi marked his best scoring year in the history of LaLiga with 50 goals, winning the Pichichi and the Golden Boot. All tallied up, this led to Leo Messi beating the absolute record of goals in a calendar year, with a mind-blowing 91 goals in all of 2012. A truly amazing statistic.
Leo Messi goal vs. Sevilla FC
Leo Messi's oozing class with a goal against his favorite victim across his time in LaLiga: Sevilla FC. A goal that combines a spectacular nutmeg past the defender and a stunning finish over the goalkeeper. FC Barcelona won the match by 2-0 in a stadium that is always complicated to play at, although Barça finished that season (2012/2013) without the coveted league title. The team's great start of that campaign, at the end of 2012, would end up being key for Messi's run to surpass the absolute record of goals in a calendar year: reaching a miraculous number of 91 goals, scoring a total of 46 in that league.
Leo Messi goal vs. Real Betis
Probably one of Leo Messi's last great displays in LaLiga, in what would be his last season in the league (2018/2019). A 4-1 win over Real Betis with, you guessed it, another incredible Messi hattrick. This time, at the Benito Villamarín, La Pulga was cooking and put the icing on the cake with this work of art, that even the home fans couldn't help but give him a round of applause, for they had just witnessed a masterpiece from the best player in the history of LaLiga. An incredible chip over the keeper to the far post, in a season that Messi would round off amassing the LaLiga title, Pichichi, and European Golden Boot with 36 league goals.
